Will the iPhone 13 Really Appear? Apple could make a mistake here. Because some customers are afraid of the new smartphone because of the name.
Apple could skip the iPhone 13. Don’t worry: fans of the smartphone don’t have to worry that a year will go by without a new iPhone. Instead, the name of the smartphone could be changed. Because as a study by SellCell shows (via 9to5Mac ), some Apple fans could have concerns about an iPhone 13.
About every fifth iPhone or iPad user stated that they would refrain from buying with the name “iPhone 13”. In many countries, the number is viewed as a harbinger of bad luck.
iPhone 13: Is Apple Really Taking Consequences?
The respondents were in favour of a different name for the next iPhone. In their opinion, Apple should just use the year of release. Accordingly, the next smartphone would come on the market as “iPhone 2021”. It remains questionable, however, whether Apple will really give in to this pressure.
Apple already uses this scheme for Macs and iPads, but it would be a novelty for the iPhone series. Should the name and thus the numbering be changed, Apple would have to communicate this to the customers in order to avoid confusion. Otherwise, many might think that this is a different device rather than the flagship iPhone.
