Using Whatsapp as a Diary
You activate the diary in WhatsApp in an unusual way. To do this, tap on the round speech bubble symbol in the lower right corner of Messenger as if you were to open a new chat with a contact. Then you create a new group. WhatsApp will now ask you to add participants. For example, select your best friend, your partner or a relative and tap on the arrow. Now you have to enter a group name and confirm it with the tick. WhatsApp will now create a group in which only you and your contact are members.
Now tap on the group name at the top of the screen, swipe to the list of participants and tap your contact. Now you can remove him from the group. Then you are the only member of the group. Now you can name the group “Diary” or “Notepad” and choose a suitable picture. Everything you write in here, all the pictures and videos you post here and all voice messages you send here can only be seen and heard by yourself.
Tip: Let your contact know that you are adding them to a group and then immediately removing them. Because he or she gets messages on WhatsApp that you did it. That should cause confusion.
This is how you make your diary perfect
Now you can pin your WhatsApp diary to the chat list. Tap and hold on to chat until a checkmark appears. Then you tap on the pushpin. This will keep your diary pinned to the top. Even if your contacts write to you, they always appear in the chat list under your diary.
If you want to use your diary or notepad regularly, you can also pin it on your home screen. To do this, you have to tap the chat again and hold it down until the checkmark appears. Now you tap on the three dots in the top right corner and select “Add chat link”. You can then add your diary to the start screen.
By the way: If at some point you no longer want to use WhatsApp, you can download your diary or notepad beforehand. To do this, tap on the three dots in the top right corner of the chat, select “More” and “Export chat”.
